Our proprietary software platform generates three-dimensional digital models of infrastructure assets, enabling complex, engineering-grade analysis to be performed at scale. Our state-of-the-art, cloud-based model enables utilities and infrastructure asset owners to enhance the operation and performance of their assets by optimising capital spending, reducing operational costs, and improving safety and risk management.

Fundamental to your success is your ability to help us achieve scale in the legal and operations scope of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring that Neara proactively manages its enterprise risk and compliance. This would include providing your input and subject matter expertise on all aspects of legal scope such as: transactions, corporate governance, risk, compliance and regulatory management.

As part of your role you will:

  • Be the primary owner of all legal documentation, risk, and compliance scope.

  • Build out a legal and regulatory strategy for how the company manages enterprise risk and exposure.

  • Design, build and implement an internal and external governance architecture that manages risk but is also globally scalable and facilitates growth.

  • Oversee all corporate development scope including the sourcing of deals and their execution and integration.

  • Play an active role in the definition and revision of all operational scope, including aspects related to finance and general organizational scaling.

  • Develop and maintain a register of all legal and compliance risks and issues.

Job requirements


You have a law degree coupled with a solid 3-5 years of commercial transactional experience in a Tier 1 law firm, preferably with a focus on technology. You’re curious, ambitious and commercially minded. You understand the criticality of good legal, risk and compliance management within a growing technology startup and you love the challenge of rolling up your sleeves and tackling a myriad of challenges in this space. Your attention to detail is second to none, but you’re also an excellent communicator and lateral thinker.

In an ideal world, you have demonstrated achievements in taking ownership of the above and you have successfully defined, developed and implemented business processes to help scaling technology companies manage their legal and commercial risks and compliance on a global scale. Or at the very least, you have a clear understanding of how to achieve this as a result of your involvement in similar projects / programs of work.

Initially your scope will be to level-up our legal and compliance systems (without hindering our growth). Longer term, you’ll have ample opportunities to evolve your career as a commercial risk and compliance manager within the technology space and scale with our business.
