Our proprietary software platform generates three-dimensional digital models of infrastructure assets, enabling complex, engineering-grade analysis to be performed at scale. We are looking for a Business Development Representative in the Los Angeles region. This individual will complete the cold engagement process and pursue leads generated from marketing activities. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting prospects and explaining the Neara platform and business cases, developing relationships with potential customers.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing first-stage engagements, converting leads from marketing campaigns, and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with potential customers, from first contact forward.   • Complete market research to identify sales prospects

  • Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails

  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns and convert to sales opportunities

  • Present our platform and business cases to potential clients

  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services

  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market

  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Management

  • Report on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results

  • Stay up to date with platform functionality/associated services and pricing models

Job requirements


  • 1-2 years’ work experience as a Business Development Representative, Jr Sales Account Executive, or similar role 

  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)

  • Track record of achieving sales quotas

  • Experience with CRM software, familiarity with HubSpot is an advantage

  • Fluency with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)

  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to understand complex topics/workflows and deliver engaging presentations

  • Energy/utility, infrastructure, or GIS industry experience
